Elise Stefanik


Biography

Rep. Elise Stefanik was first elected in 2014 and was then the youngest woman ever to ever elected to Congress. In 2021, her GOP colleagues elected her Conference Chair. As Conference Chair, she quickly took action, leading her Republican colleagues in a #HydeSavesLives social media day of action and has worked diligently to end taxpayer funding for abortion. She has cosponsored the Support and Value Expectant Moms and Babies Act and the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. She cosigned the Congressional Amicus Brief submitted in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the Court will assess whether pre-viability limits on abortion are constitutional.

Before serving in Congress, Stefanik served in the Bush administration on his Domestic Policy Council. An honors graduate from Harvard University, Elise grew up working for her family’s small business. She and her husband, Matt, are new parents and live in Schuylerville, New York.
