Jackie Walorski

Biography

Congresswoman Walorski was first elected to Congress in 2012 and has earned an A+ on our National Pro-Life Scorecard.

Congresswoman Walorski introduced H.R. 620, the Dignity for Aborted Children Act, which would require humane and respectful treatment of aborted babies’ remains. She pressed HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and the Food and Drug Administration to prioritize better data collection on the chemical abortion pill, and co-led an amendment to apply pro-life protections to COVID-19 pandemic relief funds. Rep. Walorski gave a speech explaining the pro-abortion agenda of Democrats' attempts to remove the long-expired deadline for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, which would enshrine unrestricted abortion in the Constitution and allow taxpayer funding of abortion on demand. She also offered a unanimous consent request for consideration of H.R. 18, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, which would make the Hyde Amendment permanent. Rep. Walorski gave a speech defending life at a special order hour on the day of the Dobbs Supreme Court oral argument. Additionally, she gave a speech on the House Floor opposing the so-called Women's Health Protection Act, which would overturn federal and state pro-life laws.

Prior to her time in the U.S. House she served three terms in the Indiana Statehouse. A lifelong servant, she and her husband Dean spent four years as missionaries in Romania providing food and medical supplies to impoverished children. They now live in Jimtown, IN.
