Biography
Murrill was appointed the first solicitor general for Louisiana in 2016. She previously served as the Louisiana Department of Justice’s director of administration and, before that, director of the Civil Division. She has served as counsel to numerous offices in the state, including the governor’s office. For several years she volunteered at a domestic abuse shelter for women in Baton Rouge, working with children and on the crisis line.
Her efforts defending Louisiana’s pro-life laws, including at the U.S. Supreme Court, have earned her the 2022 Leadership for Life Award from Louisiana Right to Life and recognition from Louisiana Family Forum.
An eighth-generation Louisianan and longtime resident, she attended Louisiana State University for both her undergraduate and law degrees before obtaining a Master of Laws from Pepperdine University. She and her husband are the proud parents of four boys.
