Biography
As attorney general of Mississippi, Fitch led the legal team that successfully defended a state law limiting abortion at 15 weeks in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization U.S. Supreme Court case. The case resulted in the overturning of Roe v. Wade, restoring the right of the people and their elected leaders to protect unborn children and their mothers in the law. Just under a year later, 25 states now have laws protecting life between conception and 12 weeks, with the potential to impact 200,000 lives a year.
SBA Pro-Life America’s Candidate Fund endorsed Fitch in her first race for attorney general in 2019. She is the first woman to hold the position. Previously she served two terms as state treasurer. She has received numerous awards and honors and serves on the boards of several charitable organizations.
Most recently Fitch and 22 more pro-life state attorneys general filed an amicus brief challenging the Biden Food and Drug Administration’s decision to allow mail-order distribution of dangerous abortion drugs.
