Congresswoman Michelle Steel is a first-generation Korean American immigrant and is dedicated to serving as a voice for the voiceless. She has helped run her family’s small businesses since she was very young. She first entered public service as a board member for the California State Board of Equalization, where she worked to achieve much-needed tax reform. She has used her position as highest-ranking Korean American officeholder to empower women and minority leaders in her California community. She served as vice chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. She and her husband Shawn are the proud parents of two children. Rep. Steel has an A+ on SBA Pro-Life America's National Pro-Life Scorecard.
Rep. Steel is being challenged by Jay Chen, a pro-abortion candidate who is endorsed by Planned Parenthood, in what promises to be an extremely competitive election.
