It is now being widely reported that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is being considered by President Obama for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Tom Daschle, who had to withdraw his nomination due to unpaid taxes, was bad, but if you can imagine it, Sebelius is even worse.
The Secretary of Health and Human Services is responsible for many issues important to the pro-life movement including conscience protections and funding of abortion providers.
A few examples of Governor Sibelius’ radical pro-abortion record:
-She held a secret event in the Governor’s mansion with notorious late term abortionist George Tiller.
-It took more than a year for the State to recoup reimbursement expenses for the use of the mansion for a “political” event.
-Tiller has donated thousands to Sebelius’ campaign efforts
-Sebelius vetoed legislation that would have expanded informed consent measures and protected women from coerced late-term abortions.
-Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas City has both privately and publicly asked Sebelius to refrain from taking communion.
