Susan B. Anthony List Endorses Ileana Ros-Lehtinen
Longtime Pro-life Leader Up for Re-election in FL-27
Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who is running for re-election in Florida’s 27th Congressional District.
“Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is a longtime leader for life, unafraid to stand up for unborn children as well as their mothers. She understands that the pro-life movement is about protecting and serving both mother and child.” said SBA List Vice President of Government Affairs, former Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave. “We are proud to endorse Rep. Ros-Lehtinen in her re-election campaign and look forward to continuing our pro-life work with her in Washington.”
Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen welcomed the endorsement, saying: “I am honored to accept the endorsement of the Susan B. Anthony List. We have worked together over the years, championing laws that will truly save lives. I am thankful for the tireless efforts of Susan B. Anthony List to protect unborn boys and girls.”
Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen is a member of the Pro-life Women’s Caucus and the lead sponsor of the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, which seeks to protect underage girls from being taken across state lines to circumvent parental involvement laws. First elected in 1989, she has supported all major pro-life legislative initiatives, including the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
The Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion.
