Washington, D.C. – In response to today’s announcement that the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) will require endorsed candidates to support the expansion of abortion on demand, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) issued the following statement:

“The DAGA’s litmus test underscores the extremism of the modern Democratic Party on abortion. Long gone are the days of ‘safe, legal and rare,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The overwhelming majority of Americans – including many rank-and-file Democrats – reject party leaders’ radical agenda of abortion on demand through the moment of birth, and even infanticide, paid for by taxpayers. While Democratic Party power brokers send a clear message that these voters are unwelcome, SBA List is reaching out to persuadable Democrats, Independents, and moderate Republicans to educate them about the candidates and the stakes of the coming elections. Our canvassers will make millions of visits to voters’ homes through Election Day. In contrast to President Trump’s strong pro-life leadership, abortion extremism will be a serious political liability in 2020.”

SBA List is a network of more than 837,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
