The North Dakota State House has approved a bill by granting human rights to fertilized human eggs. The bill was passed by a 51-41 vote and it will now go to the North Dakota Senate.
The bill declares that “any organism with the genome of homo sapiens” is a person protected by rights granted by the North Dakota Constitution and state laws. The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Dan Ruby (R), the bill simply defines “when life begins, and giving that life some protections under our Constitution — the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
If you live in North Dakota, please contact your State Senator and urge him or her to vote yes on this bill.
