Washington, D.C. â Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Governor Henry McMaster and Pamela Evette in South Carolinaâs gubernatorial election.
âGovernor Henry McMaster is a pro-life leader of remarkable courage,â said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA Listâs Vice President of Government Affairs. âHenry is a vocal advocate of laws that protect babies from late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy, like the one South Carolina passed in 2015. As governor he has acted decisively to prevent taxpayersâ hard-earned dollars from being funneled to abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood. Governor McMaster and his running mate, Pamela Evette, make a strong team who will stand up for the most vulnerable and never stop fighting for South Caroliniansâ pro-life values. We look forward to seeing them elected.â
Governor Henry McMaster served as lieutenant governor under Nikki Haley and assumed the office of governor when Haley was appointed ambassador to the United Nations. In 1981, McMaster was nominated by President Ronald Reagan as United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina. Previously he served as chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party. He and his wife Peggy have two children.
Pamela Evette is the president and CEO of Quality Business Solutions (QBS). She lives in Travelerâs Rest with her husband David and their three children, Amanda, Joseph and Jackson, as well as her mother Jennie. She is an active participant in pro-life events around the state.Â
