Noah is a dedicated senior field representative for our Pennsylvania Voter Contact Program and a student at Franciscan University. His inspiring journey reflects a deep commitment to the pro-life cause. We caught up with him to hear his insights on canvassing and the passion that drives his pro-life outreach.
SBA: When did you do your first canvassing trip for SBA, and what was that like?
Noah: I started canvassing for SBA in 2022 after watching the movie “Unplanned.” It deeply impacted me, revealing the unseen tragedy of abortion. I felt a strong desire to fight for the women and babies affected by it, but I wasn’t sure how to get involved.
At the time, I was working as a door-to-door salesman and feeling unfulfilled, lacking a sense of purpose. Then, a former employer offered me a position as a senior field rep for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, and I felt it was a divine opportunity. That same year, I converted to Christianity, and my role with SBA transformed from just a job into a ministry.
Every door I knocked on became a chance to change hearts and minds. I even began praying for the people I spoke with before and after our conversations. Canvassing for SBA has brought me immense peace, joy, and fulfillment, allowing me to plant seeds for both God and the pro-life movement.
SBA: Can you share your background regarding the pro-life issue?
Noah: My family instilled pro-life values in me from a young age. I attended the March for Life in Washington, D.C., most years. My mother experienced seven miscarriages, and my father was conceived through rape, so the pro-life issue was very close to their hearts, and they wanted to pass that passion along to me.
However, it wasn’t until I saw the movie “Unplanned” and converted to Christianity in 2022 that I truly felt a personal connection to the issue. That film struck me to the core and ignited a fire within me. Since I started canvassing for SBA, my passion for the pro-life movement has only continued to grow.
SBA: Why did you choose to canvass with SBA?
Noah: I was aware of other organizations when I started canvassing, but SBA welcomed me like family. My supervisors truly took me under their wing and guided me through my pro-life journey. I felt so embraced by SBA that I never really considered working for any other organization.
SBA:Â How would you describe the job of a canvasser?
Noah: I think the job of a canvasser is to be the merciful face of Christ at each door. You never know who you might meet. You could meet someone with a lot of history in the pro-choice movement, or even someone who has had an abortion. I don’t try to argue or convince them with just facts; instead, I focus on showing that I genuinely care.
Women who have a painful past with abortion need to see that the pro-life movement values both them and their babies. In short, our job is to share God’s grace, communicate the pro-life message, and challenge the stereotypes people have about pro-lifers. We are loving and supportive, caring for women just as much as we do for their babies.
SBA: Can you share a story where you changed someone’s heart or mind at the door?
Noah: I spoke with a pro-abortion woman who strongly believed in a woman’s right to choose. I told her that I believe in that right too—she can choose where to go to college, what to do for a living, and so on. But I also said that I don’t think she has the right to choose to take the life of a defenseless baby. I could see that really made her think; the wheels were turning in her head, and I noticed something in her eyes that showed she understood what I was saying. I felt like I had planted a seed in that moment, and hopefully that seed will grow.
SBA:Â Do you feel that your work as a canvasser is making a difference?
Noah: I truly believe that being a canvasser is one of the most meaningful jobs you can have. There have been times in my life where I’ve struggled with sadness and felt like my life lacked purpose, but working with SBA has changed that. Now, I wake up every morning excited, with a mission to save babies and support women. We’re truly making a difference, saving lives, and changing the hearts and minds of voters.
When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, our movement was given a historic opportunity. But the battle for life became much more difficult.
