Governor Joan Rell of Connecticut has signed a bill into law banning ultrasounds due to “potential risk.” Under the new law, ultrasounds are only allowed if ordered by a licensed health care professional and needed for a medical or diagnostic purpose.
Unfortunately for the Governor, the “risks” are non-existent. No studies have found that ultrasounds harm either the mother or her unborn baby.
Pregnancy resource centers have reported that ultrasounds for non-medical reasons have resulted in more than 50% of abortion-minded women choosing life.
It is apparent that the only “risk” of concern to Governor Rell is that mothers will decide to choose life instead of abortion.
