Calls on Americans to “Turn off the Music” and Cut Funding
Washington, D.C. – In a new video launched today, the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) criticizes the close relationship between President Obama and his political ally, and the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. After key groups of his base supporters have abandoned him, Planned Parenthood remains closer than ever to the President, the video says. Titled “Turn off the Music,” it is available at www.turnoffthemusic.com.
“President Obama has proven time and again that he will do whatever it takes to ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to receive taxpayer subsidies,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Obama is the most pro-abortion President in our country’s history and his allegiance to Planned Parenthood is unwavering.”
The web video will be used to educate and rally the pro-life grassroots and to raise funds for the SBA List’s on-going efforts to defund Planned Parenthood on the state level. It comes on the heels of efforts made by the Obama Administration to bypass, and even threaten to punish, states that have cut Planned Parenthood’s funding. Thus far, nine states have cut Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding by more than $60 million, details of which can be found on the SBA List’s Scoreboard.

He was the most popular guy at the party. Big smiles and tall tales.
But the longer he stayed, the less he’s liked.
First, the small businessmen left him. Then, union workers, college kids, and soccer moms.
But through it all, one friend has stuck with Barack Obama: the abortion providers. And his dedication knows no bounds.
For them, he promised to shut down the entire federal government. Threatened to slash Medicaid for the poor in Indiana. Even offered to pay for abortion clinics in New Hampshire…with our federal tax dollars.

In June, the Obama Administration declared Indiana’s defunding law to be “illegal” and threatened to pull the state’s Medicaid funding if they did not change the law. In September, the Obama Administration granted a non-competitive contract directly to Planned Parenthood in New Hampshire in response to a decision made by the elected members of the state’s Executive Council to reject a $1.8 million contract with the abortion provider. Both actions follow President Obama’s special protection of Planned Parenthood during the federal budget battle earlier this year, despite undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood employees displaying a willingness to aid and abet alleged sex trafficking of young girls.
