SBA List Candidate Fund Endorses Mary Fallin in 'Critical' OK Governor Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, an influential national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin, citing her “perfect pro-life voting record and outspoken advocacy of pro-life issues.”

Emphasizing the importance of supporting viable, pro-life candidates in key upcoming elections, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said of the endorsement:

“Mary Fallin came to Congress determined to work hard and never compromise her pro-life position.  As she moves on to this critical gubernatorial election, Mary Fallin leaves with a 100 percent pro-life voting record.  The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund supported Congresswoman Fallin in both Congressional campaigns and confidently endorses her once again.

“With a majority pro-life state Congress, Oklahoma will be in the unique position to pass much of the strong, pro-life legislation being written but vetoed under Gov. Henry.  Mary Fallin has worked tirelessly to promote Life as Oklahoma’s Congresswoman and will do the same as its governor.”

During her two terms in office, Fallin co-sponsored the Positive Alternatives Act and Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, receiving awards from Americans for Tax Reform, the Family Research Council, Focus on the Family and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Recent polling gives Fallin a nearly 50-point lead over her primary opponent, Senator Randy Brogdon, and a solid 10-point lead over general election opponents Attorney General Drew Edmondson and Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins.

The Susan B. Anthony List plans to spend $6 million on voter education in the midterm elections, including $3 million on key Senate races, $1 million in bundled direct candidate contributions from SBA List members and $1 million on its plan to target “pro-life” Democrats who voted for abortion funding in the health care bill.  The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics.  Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
