Embryonic stem cell research is unethical and leads to the destruction of life, however, adult stem cell research is proving to be the more promising research. Adult stem cells are taken from body tissue and umbilical cord blood. Embryonic stem cells have failed to successfully help any patients, where as adult cells have been used as therapy for patients suffering from leukemia and lymphoma. These cells also have certain capabilities embryonic stem cells lack, such as suppressing the immune system and stimulating tissue repair. Adult stem cells have tremendous potential to help people, without destroying human life.
