I spoke with Marilinda Garcia a few months before she announced her bid for Congress. Passionately pro-life, she had just been named a “Rising Star” by the RNC.
I was impressed by Marilinda’s powerful articulation of pro-life values, so I encouraged her to run for Congress. “It’s funny you should say that,” she said, “I am indeed at a crossroads. I have to make that decision whether to run for Congress – will you pray for me?”
Of course I promised to pray for her.
The SBA List endorsed Marilinda Garcia, and last week she won her primary by a landslide. This strong pro-life leader now goes on to challenge extremely pro-abortion, EMILY’s List-endorsed Rep. Ann McLane Kuster.
The SBA List will be with Marilinda every step of the way, all the way to Congress.
We’ve endorsed nearly 40 congressional candidates this election year, and with Marilinda’s primary win, that includes 2 pro-life young women running for Congress in the Northeast – Marilinda Garcia (R-NH) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY). There are currently no pro-life women from the Northeast serving in the U.S. House… and we are going to change that.
We have helped elect 97 pro-life candidates to the U.S. House, 13 to the Senate, and 15 to statewide office. These leaders went on to pass historic legislation like the federal Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and the recent tidal wave of pro-life state laws across the country.
This year we can elect even more pro-life leaders to state and federal office, where they will champion pro-life legislation to save babies’ lives.
