WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Curt Clawson for U.S. Congress in Florida’s 19th Congressional District.
“As the next Congressman representing Florida’s 19th District, Curt Clawson will proudly stand up for unborn children and their mothers,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “A man of great intellectual depth, proven leadership ability, and commitment to the lives of women and children, I believe Curt Clawson will emerge as one of the brightest stars of the next Congress. Clawson’s opponent has close ties to EMILY’s List and NOW, both pro-abortion groups that oppose a compassion limit on late abortion. For pro-life, pro-woman voters in Florida’s 19th Congressional District, Curt Clawson is the clear choice.”
Curt Clawson won the special election primary to fill the open seat vacated by Congressman Trey Radel on April 22nd, with 38 percent of the vote. Clawson is a business leader who served as CEO of Hayes Lemmerz International, an automotive-wheel manufacturer, and as COO of American National Can, a worldwide beverage can manufacturer.
Curt Clawson will face April Freeman (D) on the June 24th special general election and again on the November 4th general election. Freeman supports EMILY’s List and serves as the President of the Ft. Myers/Naples chapter of the National Organization for Women.
The Susan B. Anthony List and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
