2016 Campaign for Life Gala – Highlights

On Thursday, April 21 we held our 9th Annual Campaign for Life Gala, featuring keynote speaker Senator Joni Ernst. The Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium was such a great venue, and you can click here to see some of the photos from our special evening on Marjorie’s Facebook page.

Below are videos of the speeches from the evening, as well as some powerful quotes made by our speakers:

Senator Joni Ernst

“I am a woman. I have been to war. And our pro-life policies are not a war on women.”
– Senator Joni Ernst

“Last fall I joined my colleagues in support of Senator Lindsey Graham’s Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in an effort to ban abortions after five months of preganncy, a state of development at which evidence shows unborn babies can feel pain, and survive outside of the womb. The bill would have protected up to 10,000 lives every year, and finally moved our great country from the poor company it keeps on this particular issue. Currently the U.S. is only one of 7 countries to include China and North Korea that allows abortion after five months.”
– Senator Joni Ernst

Congresswoman Mia Love

“We need to stop treating people like liabilities that need to be managed. Every time a mother goes into an abortion clinic, there is no one there to advocate for her.”
– Congresswoman Mia Love

“This is not about a right or left issue. This is a right and wrong issue.”
– Congresswoman Mia Love

Governor Greg Abbott

“Our lives are not defined by how we are challenged. Instead, they are defined by how we respond to the challenges we face. The Susan B. Anthony List exemplifies that principle by helping the United States of America respond to the challenge of life itself.”
– Governor Greg Abbott

“One of the greatest responsibilities that we have is to give every child a chance in life. But for a child to first have a chance in life, that child must first have a chance at life.”
– Governor Greg Abbott

Marjorie Dannenfelser

“As horrible as it is to make horror fresh, it is necessary so that we continue toward the light.”
– Marjorie Dannenfelser

“We know one thing. And that is, the light always outshines the darkness. The light always prevails. And that’s really where our hope is, and hope never fails.”
– Marjorie Dannenfelser
