WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund-endorsed Jaime Herrera qualified for the November general election in Washington’s 3rd District jungle primary.
“The Susan B. Anthony List is proud to support an authentic pro-life woman leader like Jaime Herrera as she moves on to the general election. Jaime Herrera is exactly the type of candidate Americans crave. Herrera’s commitment to rescinding taxpayer funding of abortion in health care and in every aspect of federal spending is urgently needed in the coming Congress,” said Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
Jaime Herrera is currently serving Washington as a State Representative for the 18th District. She is a former staffer for House Pro-Life Caucus member Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) who has also endorsed her candidacy. Herrera has signed an “amicus curiae” brief in support of pharmacists who chose not to carry or dispense medication that can end the life of an unborn baby.
Dannenfelser concluded: “A new women’s movement which affirms its original pro-life roots is making its way to the House of Representatives, and Herrera is one of its brightest new stars.”
She will face Democrat Denny Heck in the November general election.
The Susan B. Anthony List plans to spend $6 million on voter education in the midterm elections, including $3 million on key Senate races, $1 million in bundled direct candidate contributions from SBA List members and $1.5 million on its plan to target “pro-life” Democrats who voted for abortion funding in the health care bill. The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
