This week was an exciting week for the Susan B. Anthony List, and the media noticed. The Votes Have Consequences bus tour continued through the districts of “pro-life” dems who caved on federal funding of abortion in health care, and the gigantic bus caught the attention of national and local media, along with protestors from Catholics United, a fake Catholic group which actively opposed efforts to add Hyde amendment language to the health care bill to ensure taxpayer dollars wouldnât be used to pay for abortions.
The Susan B. Anthony List had a quick response to a new campaign released by the radical pro-abortion EMILY’s List entitled “Sarah Doesn’t Speak For Me.” The campaign, accompanied by a ridiculous ad involving bear costumes, is a direct response to the pro-life, “mama grizzly” feminism advocated for by Sarah Palin at the Susan B. Anthony List “Celebration of Life Breakfast” in May and in Sarah’s recently released ad highlighting the rise of “mama grizzlies” all over the country. As SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser noted, “EMILY’s List is running scaredâand it shows…Clearly, in this âYear of the Pro-Life Woman,â which Sarah Palin helped make possible, women have found their political voices. Pro-life âMama Grizzliesâ represent the majority of women across the country.” Quick action on the part of the SBA List ensured that most of the media attention garnered by EMILY’s List was tempered by Marjorie’s strong response.
A piece in The Hill featured our efforts to ensure that the Republican Party has a strong voice for Life when it regains political power.
Politico published an article highlighting Michele Bachmann’s new PAC, which will advance candidates with conservative values, and to which the SBA List made a 5,000 donation.
TIME Magazine ran an article that noted the Susan B. Anthony List’s role in supporting the record number of pro-life women running for office this year, and SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser wrote a commentary for The Jackson Sun explaining the need for more pro-life women in congress.
