Washington, D.C. – In response to President Biden’s $25 million, abortion-focused ad campaign, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser called on Democrats to name any limit on abortion they would support:
“President Biden is spending millions of dollars on campaign ads attacking his GOP opponents on abortion. In reality, Democrats hope to distract voters from their own extremism. Tellingly, Biden’s ad never states a single limit he would support – not even to protect babies from brutal late-term abortions after they can feel pain, a standard over 70% of Americans including many rank-and-file Democrats favor.
“Biden used to embrace commonsense limits on abortion based on science. Now he and his party are fully in lock step with the radical abortion lobby position of abortion on demand any time for any reason, paid for by the taxpayer. Today’s Democrats even block protections for babies born alive in failed abortions, knowing their media allies will run cover. That is unacceptable. Everyone should be asking where the Democrats draw the line – is it 38, 39 weeks? Americans deserve to know where all candidates stand.
“Finally, any mention of how our country can come together to support mother and child was palpably absent from Biden’s ad. Women want to hear the president’s plan to ensure they can access tangible resources, including financial help, so they never feel forced into unwanted abortions. Will Democrats support critical relief for moms like the Providing for Life Act? Or will they continue to demonize pregnancy centers and other life-affirming nonprofits while pushing pills and surgery as a cure-all instead? This callous ‘solution’ of killing the child fails to address many of the core problems experienced by pregnant women. It is time Democrats faced real questions on these issues and were honest with the American people.”
