National & State-Based Groups Mobilize Pro-lifers Nationwide; Urge Vulnerable Senate Democrats to Support Gorsuch
Washington, D.C. – National and state pro-life groups today announced the launch of the Pro-life Court Coalition to rally support for Judge Neil Gorsuch and ensure his swift confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court. The nationwide effort will focus its efforts on Senate Democrats up for re-election in 2018 states.
Groups are mobilizing online at prolifecourt.com, where grassroots activists can send an immediate message to their U.S. Senators, and are planning coordinated email and phone call campaigns to offices, in-state demonstrations targeting key Senators, and a digital advertising campaign. Spearheaded by Susan B. Anthony List, the coalition includes: Able Americans, American Life League, Americans United for Life, American Values, Bound4Life, C-Fam, Children First Foundation, Citizens for a Pro-life Society, Concerned Women for America, HSLDA, Illinois Right to Life, Indiana Family Institute, Iowa Right to Life, LifeNews, Life Issues Institute, March for Life, North Carolina Values Coalition, Ohio Right to Life, Operation Rescue, Pro-life Action League, Rock for Life, Stand True Pro-life Outreach, and Students for Life of America.

“After the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, the enormous responsibility of filling the void left on our nation’s highest court loomed large in voters’ minds, with 21 percent calling the Supreme Court vacancy the most important issue. These voters overwhelmingly placed their trust in Donald Trump, who promised to nominate only pro-life Supreme Court justices. He kept his promise. Gorsuch is an exceptionally qualified jurist with a strong record of protecting life and religious freedom. Our coalition took immediate action to mobilize the pro-life grassroots nationwide and in key Senate battleground states to urge the Senate to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. There will be political consequences for pro-abortion Senate Democrats who ignore the will of the American people and obstruct this nominee.”

- Gorsuch wrote a book called “The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia.” He argues in the book that “human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable” and that “the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong.”
- Gorsuch sided with Hobby Lobby in holding that Obamacare’s abortifacient mandate violates the religious beliefs of closely-held corporations.
- Gorsuch also sided with the Little Sisters of the Poor, defending the rights of nuns not to be forced to pay for abortion-inducing drugs in their health care plans.
- Gorsuch forcefully dissented from a case in which the Tenth Circuit sided with Planned Parenthood and refused to allow the Governor of Utah to defund the abortion business in wake of videos showing its involvement in the selling of baby body parts.
