Pro-life Field Team Hits Historic Milestone in Effort to Defeat Clinton & Safeguard Pro-life Senator Richard Burr

Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out announced today its North Carolina ground team of 216 pro-life activists has knocked on more than 370,000 doors as part of a massive get-out-the-vote effort. Nationally, more than 700 pro-life canvassers with SBA List/Women Speak Out have knocked on the doors of 1,062,000+ homes in the battleground states of North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, and Missouri. This is double the previous record of half a million homes visited during the 2014 cycle.

North Carolina is an SBA List stronghold with more than 14,000 members statewide. During the 2014 election cycle, SBA List knocked on a total of 153,000 doors and made 246,000 live phone calls to defeat then-Senator Kay Hagan, an abortion advocate, spending $1.9 million in North Carolina.

SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser, a North Carolina native, commented on this major milestone, saying:

“Our 2016 ground operation is an unprecedented effort demonstrating the political muscle of the pro-life movement. SBA List and Women Speak Out have been on the ground in North Carolina since last October. For the last year, we’ve been working with statewide pro-life activists on a massive scale to reach more than 370,000 voters directly at their homes, cutting through the noise of television and radio ads.

“Early on we identified North Carolina as a battleground state where we could leverage our resources to defeat Hillary Clinton and pro-abortion Senate candidate Deborah Ross. We are talking to inconsistent pro-life voters, as well as Democrats who oppose the Clinton-Ross plan to force taxpayers to fund late-term abortion on-demand.

“Now, in the final days of the campaign North Carolina’s Senate race remains one of the most competitive in the country, likely one of a handful of states where control of the Senate will be decided. Pro-life voters can provide the margin of victory for pro-life candidates.”

SBA List and Women Speak Out PAC have also launched a voter mail campaign and a $200,000 online ad campaign, concentrating on North Carolina and Missouri, in the final weeks of the general election. Through the digital campaign, SBA List will reach 550,000 pro-life, low propensity voters multiple times online.

Marist poll released in July found that a majority of Americans (62 percent) oppose taxpayer funding of abortion including 45 percent of those who say they are “pro-choice” and 44 percent of Democrats.

Susan B. Anthony List and its connected super PAC, Women Speak Out so far have spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than one million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
