YouCut Vote to Eliminate UNFPA Funding Successful: Legislation to be Introduced by Rep. Renee Ellmers

A previous Suzy B post explained that the GOP’s YouCut Phase II online voting program was conducting a vote between three possible bills to cut spending, including a bill that would save the US $400 million over the next 10 years by cutting funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Votes were cast and the voice of the pro-life American majority is definitely being heard! Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) will introduce a bill to withdraw United States funding from the UNFPA program, a radically pro-abortion organization that has even supported China’s one-child policy.

(For a more detailed description of UNFPA and its work, I encourage you to visit the Population Research Institute website where they expose UNFPA’s involvement in promoting abortion worldwide, as well as the horrors that take place under China’s one-child policy and the lengths the Chinese government goes to persecute their citizens who have multiple children.)

The UNFPA has been linked to China’s one child program that fines Chinese families an outlandish “social compensation fee” if they become pregnant more than once.  If a family risks having a second or even a third child, the mother is likely to be coerced or forced to have an abortion or the child is taken from the parents and be put up for adoption.

Thanks to the efforts of pro-lifers and the YouCut program we may soon end taxpayer funding to the UNFPA. Keep track of the legislation as it progresses here.
