Can someone remind me, which of our prominent American leaders famously said, âForget religious liberty, forget life, just give me abortion?â Well, it certainly wasnât Patrick Henry.
Although that is not a direct quote, that was the substance of what Kamala Harris said this week during her interview on NBC. A reporter asked her directly how she would moderate on abortion, and what exceptions or concessions she would make with Republicans to pass a federal abortion law.
And her response was chilling.
âWhat concessions would be on the table? Religious exemptions?â The reporter asked.
Vice President Kamala Harris shot back, âI donât think that we should be making concessions when weâre talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own bodyâŠand that cannot be negotiable.â
For those of us who follow Ms. Harrisâ record on abortion (or where her running mate Tim Walz stands on the subject), this isnât surprising. We know what she is after. And we know it because she has already co-sponsored the legislation in Congress for it through the so-called âWomenâs Health Protection Act.â Sheâs told us what she wants through her actions. Sheâs just being covert about it now because sheâs trying to gain the independent vote and become president…
When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, our movement was given a historic opportunity. But the battle for life became much more difficult.
