Biden-Harris Admin the Most Radically Pro-Abortion in History
Washington, D.C. – Today, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra goes before the House to defend his department budget. Becerra’s budget is part of President Biden’s proposed budget and funds abortion on demand through the removal of the longstanding Hyde Amendment. President Biden’s budget also removes Hyde-like amendments that apply to the District of Columbia, federal employees and foreign aid.
The Hyde family of policies protects unborn babies and their mothers, including in D.C., where there are no gestational limits on abortion and where the “D.C. Five” babies were brutally killed in possible federal abortion crimes. Becerra in 2021 denied knowledge of federal law that has prohibited brutal partial-birth abortions for two decades, despite having voted against the legislation as a freshman member of Congress.
“Ángel. Christopher X. Harriet. Holly. Phoenix. Those are the names given to the D.C. Five, the five unborn children whose bodies were salvaged by a whistleblower after their lives were brutally ended by a late-term abortionist two years ago in Washington, D.C. These five children would be toddlers right now, playing and exploring the world around them, had they not been aborted,” said Jamie Dangers, legislative director at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “Instead, their bodies are lying in a morgue awaiting justice that the Biden administration has refused to seek on their behalf. And at the same time, this administration has proposed removing longstanding safeguards against taxpayer funding for abortion, which will lead to even more unnamed children being denied a chance at life.”

“Today’s Democratic Party is so far gone from the old ‘safe, legal and rare’ stance on abortion that educated men like Xavier Becerra pretend it’s perfectly fine to partially deliver and kill a fully formed baby seconds from birth, while Vice President Harris makes campaign stops at abortion centers. Nothing exposes the lies and extremism of the Biden-Harris administration like their support for brutal late-term, all-trimester abortions – well after babies in the womb feel pain – and their quest to fund more and more abortions using taxpayer dollars. Democratic candidates across the country must be asked where they draw the line: Do they support compassionate protections for babies and women at any point during pregnancy, or do they stand in lock step with Biden and the radical abortion lobby against the majority of America?”
Multiple post-Dobbs polls show that at least seven in 10 Americans support significant limits on abortion. A clear majority of Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortion on demand domestically, and more than two thirds oppose using tax dollars to promote abortion overseas.
