Maryland Abortion Clinic Sends Another Woman to the Hospital

Although the passage of H.B. 2 in Texas claimed a victory for women and children, the fight to protect these victims of the abortion industry is far from over. Just last Tuesday, late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart sent another woman to the emergency room—the second known incident this year alone. According to reports, the most recent victim of Carhart’s negligence and misconduct is a young woman who went to the Germantown Reproductive Health Services on July 8 for a two-day abortion procedure (while her three children and husband slept in the car). On July 9, local pro-life activists captured footage of the woman being removed from the clinic on a stretcher. Carhart went with the woman onto the ambulance and into the hospital, despite the fact that he does not have admitting privileges and has not since 1987.

This past February, a 29-year-old kindergarten teacher from New York, died “due to or as a consequence of Amniotic Fluid Embolism” following a botched 33-week abortion performed by Carhart. Although Maryland renewed the clinic’s license just a day after the young woman’s death, public outcry pressured the state into inspecting the clinic.

“They found eight pages worth of deficiencies on how the clinic is not complying with the regulations,” stated Andrew Glenn of Maryland Coalition for Life.

But that’s not all. Live Action’s “Inhuman” Undercover Documentary captured Carhart boasting that he has performed “twenty-some thousand” late-term abortions. He even referred to the unborn children as “meat in a Crock Pot,” and joked that he used “a pickaxe, a drill bit” to take the baby out in pieces.

Earlier this year, the Sundance Film Festival praised Carhart as a hero for performing abortions in the second and third trimester. Just two days after Carhart’s most recent victim was taken to the hospital, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards held a rally on Capitol Hill to keep abortion legal after 20 weeks. This timeline of events—and the ever-expanding list of abuses in the abortion industry—only reiterates the truth that abortion advocates care more about the institution of abortion than they do about the individual lives at stake: mother and child.

“Planned Parenthood’s rally is all about politics – but what’s happening in Germantown is the reality of this issue,” stated Marjorie Dannenfelser.
