Rep. Bob Good

VA-05 (Republican)

Rep. Good has stood up against the ever-growing pro-abortion agenda of the Biden-Harris administration and the radical bureaucrats who are actively working to expand abortion access, resources and funding. Rep. Good has voted consistently to defend the lives of the unborn and infants. This includes stopping hard-earned tax dollars from paying for abortion, including abortion travel expenses, whether domestically or internationally, and pushing back on the Biden-Harris administration’s extreme executive actions on abortion.

Rep. Good offered an amendment to the REINS Act that would allow for congressional oversight of executive actions related to abortion. He spoke on the House floor thanking his fellow Republicans for passing the National Defense Authorization Act with language to roll back the Department of Defense’s illegal and immoral abortion travel policy. In a speech on the House floor, Rep. Good highlighted the importance of defunding abortion. He also gave a speech about the extremism of the Democrats’ position of abortion on demand up until the moment of birth. Rep. Good gave a speech on the House floor in support of the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 26), which would require health care practitioners to provide the same degree of care to a child born alive following an abortion as would be provided to any other child born at the same gestational age. He introduced an amendment to lower the salary of the Food and Drug Administration Director of the Office of Surveillance and Epidemiology because of the dangerous changes made by the office to the Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS) associated with the dangerous abortion drug mifepristone. Rep. Good introduced H.R. 421, the Teleabortion Prevention Act of 2023, which would prohibit the use of telemedicine for dangerous abortion drugs.

Rep. Good introduced the Life Act that would prohibit abortion. In a hearing, Rep. Good questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on his extreme position on abortion. Rep. Good brought a pro-life activist to the State of the Union as his guest. He spoke on the House floor and in a committee markup in support of H.R. 6914, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, that would ensure students at colleges and universities are made aware of the rights and resources available to pregnant and parenting students. During a committee hearing, he emphasized that abortion disproportionately affects minority communities.

Congressman Good has stood up against the pro-abortion agenda of the Biden-Harris administration and Pelosi Democrats who are actively working to expand abortion access and abortion funding. Rep. Good has voted consistently to defend the lives of the unborn and infants. This includes stopping hard-earned tax dollars from paying for abortion, whether domestically or internationally, and protecting health care provider rights for those who refuse to engage in brutal abortions.

Congressman Good sent a letter to Virginia Governor Ralph Northam urging him not to sign pending legislation that would force taxpayers in the Commonwealth to fund abortion. Rep. Good also condemned H.R. 5, the so-called Equality Act, which could cement a “right” to abortion in federal law and introduced H.R. 5136, the Teleabortion Prevention Act, which would restrict the use of telehealth for chemical abortions. He offered an amendment in the House Budget Committee markup of the Reconciliation bill in order to apply Hyde protections to the bill and another in committee ensuring Hyde protections were applied to a Community Services Block Grant bill. Additionally, Rep. Good gave speeches defending life at special orders on the day of the Dobbs Supreme Court oral argument and on the House floor for the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
