Comprehensive Legislation Provides Compassionate Support for Moms and Babies
Washington, D.C. – Pro-life leaders U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson (R-IA) have introduced the Providing for Life Act, federal legislation that combines pro-life and pro-family proposals that provide comprehensive and compassionate support for pregnant women, new moms, and their children. “In the new Dobbs era, more than a dozen states have taken action to protect unborn children and mothers from the horror of abortion, potentially saving more than 200,000 lives. As we welcome more precious children into the world, the pro-life movement stands ready to ensure their mothers have the comprehensive support they need to provide for themselves and their families,” said Musgrave. “This comprehensive proposal from Senator Rubio and Rep. Hinson includes an expanded child tax credit for unborn children, access to child support throughout pregnancy, a federal portal of life-affirming resources, and much more to help pregnant mothers and families in need.
“While Democrats in Congress are united around the deceptively named ‘Women’s Health Protection Act’ to expand abortion until the moment of birth and block protective laws nationwide, pro-life leaders in Congress are working hard to protect unborn children and assist their mothers throughout pregnancy and after the child is born. Between the Providing for Life Act and Senator Lindsey Graham’s compassionate legislation to stop abortions after 15 weeks, a point by which unborn children can feel pain, the contrast couldn’t be clearer.
