Fighting for Life in the Nation's Capital

Abortion Funding

Against the backdrop of unprecedented opposition to historically bipartisan funding protections like the Hyde amendment and the entire Hyde family, Congress must work to codify these lifesaving funding policies and to hold the Biden administration accountable for its violation of existing pro-life laws against abortion funding.

Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer subsidies should be stopped along with funding for other abortion centers.

What do Americans Think?

A majority of Americans do not support taxpayer funding of abortion. The Hyde amendment alone has saved nearly 2.5 million lives and is supported by 60% of Americans.

Priority Legislation

Currently, there are gaps in federal legislation that allow for taxpayer funding of abortion.

That is why Congress must pass the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Full Disclosure Act. This piece of legislation would apply the Hyde amendment government-wide and make the policy permanent. This would guarantee that Americans tax dollars would not be spent on abortions.

Until then, Congress must ensure that the Hyde amendment and related amendments are retained on all government funding bills.

Congress must also use its power of the purse to block funds for the Biden-Harris agencies that are actively flouting the laws against funding abortion. For example, the Veterans Affairs rule turned VA clinics into abortion centers. The Department of Defense issued a memo that funds abortion travel for service members as well as abortion licensing for military medical students.
