Washington, D.C. – Today SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Leora Levy (R) for U.S. Senate, representing Connecticut.
“Leora Levy deeply understands the importance of protecting and valuing all human life, including the unborn who are our most vulnerable members of society. We are confident that as Connecticut’s next U.S. Senator, Levy will fight hard for the unborn and their mothers, and we are proud to give her our full endorsement,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “As an immigrant from Cuba, Levy knows firsthand the horror of living in a country that does not protect and defend all human life. Her success is a testament to the American dream.”
“In contrast, her opponent, Themis Klarides, has worked alongside the abortion lobby throughout her career, helping make Connecticut one of the most radical pro-abortion states in the country, allowing for abortion up until the moment of birth. At a critical time when the Court could overturn Roe and give people, through their elected representatives, the right to decide abortion policy, it is crucial we have strong leaders who will respect and defend the right to life for all, born and unborn. We strongly urge pro-life Republican voters to support Levy on August 9th.”
Levy was born in Havana, Cuba and her family fled the country in 1960. She attended Brown University and went on to become one of the first female commodity traders at Phibro Salomon. Levy has been involved in a number of charitable efforts. She served as director of Soldier Strong, organized a project to furnish two MTBI clinics for wounded soldiers, and supports Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities. She has been heavily involved in GOP politics, serving as the finance chair or on the finance committee of the NRCC, NRSC, RNC, and Connecticut GOP, and is RNC Committeewoman for Connecticut. She and her husband live in Greenwich and have three sons.
