Biden-Pelosi Agenda Unpopular With Voters in Key Battleground States
Washington, D.C. – On the heels of the Dobbs Supreme Court decision returning abortion policy to the people, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for another vote on the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act – legislation that would expand abortion on demand until the moment of birth and block new and existing pro-life laws. Backed by President Biden, the bill has failed to pass the Senate twice this year.
Recent polling finds that a strong majority of voters in key battleground states reject this extreme agenda.
In addition, Health & Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra incorrectly claimed chemical abortion drugs are not only “safe,” but “critical” and stated that he will work with Attorney General Merrick Garland to block states from enacting safeguards for women and children against these dangerous drugs. Multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm that women are at risk of severe side effects after taking chemical abortion pills, including heavy bleeding, intense pain, and even death.
“Biden-Pelosi Democrats pushing a radical pro-abortion agenda know Americans’ hearts and minds are not on their side,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “For decades they’ve relied on unelected judges to enforce their agenda. Now they want to roll back the people’s victory and impose abortion on demand until the moment of birth nationwide, including dangerous mail-order abortion drugs. Some are even calling for abortions to be done in tents by non-doctors on the grounds of our national parks.
“Democrats’ abortion extremism is deeply unpopular and a liability in this pivotal election year. Our ground team has visited more than two million homes of voters in key battleground states, working tirelessly to educate them about the Democrats’ extreme position and the millions of lives at stake. There will be a political cost for pushing abortion on demand until birth.”
