Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) urged the U.S. Senate to confirm Sarah Pitlyk to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. President Trump announced his nomination of Pitlyk in August. SBA List mobilized thousands of grassroots activists to support Pitlyk ahead of a confirmation vote. Leader McConnell has filed for cloture on her nomination, and floor votes are expected soon.
“President Trump made yet another outstanding choice in nominating Sarah Pitlyk, and we urge the Senate to confirm her,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Pitlyk is highly qualified with a world-class education and extensive legal expertise. She is principled and committed to fairness. Recent attacks on her record were clearly partisan, motivated in part by her success in litigating pro-life cases. We thank Leader McConnell and all our Senate allies for their steadfast work to confirm her and all of President Trump’s nominees. Ms. Pitlyk deserves swift confirmation to the federal bench, where we are confident she will serve with great distinction.”
Ms. Pitlyk is a graduate of Boston College, summa cum laude. She has received two master’s degrees and earned her law degree from Yale. Pitlyk clerked for now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his tenure on the D.C. Circuit, and worked at law firms in Missouri and Washington, D.C. before joining Thomas More Society as special counsel.
