SBA List’s Candidate Fund PAC Endorses Youngkin, Sears, and Miyares in Race against Abortion Extremist Terry McAuliffe

Washington, D.C. – In a letter made public today by the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List)Virginia gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin outlines pro-life policy commitments, including advocating legislation to limit late-term abortions when unborn children can feel pain and working to stop taxpayer-funded abortions. The letter, which slams current Governor Ralph Northam’s endorsement of infanticide and Democratic opponent Terry McAuliffe’s support for failed legislation that would have expanded abortion on demand through birth in the Commonwealth, reads in part:

My Democratic opponent, Terry McAuliffe, supports abortion on-demand, up until the moment of birth, paid for by the taxpayers.

As the next Governor of Virginia, I will proudly stand up for the unborn and their mothers. I believe life begins at conception. My views are formed not only by my faith, but by science as well.

Instead of working to expand late-term abortion in Virginia, I’ll proudly advocate to limit abortions when the unborn child can feel pain. The United States is one of just seven countries around the globe – in the company of China and North Korea – to allow late abortions when the child can feel pain. That’s why over 20 states have enacted Pain-Capable limits to stop late abortions. I’ll work tirelessly to add Virginia to the list.

Further, I will protect Virginia taxpayers from paying for abortions. Earlier this year – on Good Friday – Governor Northam signed into law a bill that expands taxpayer funding of abortions. I will work vigorously to stop our tax dollars from funding abortions.

At the same time, SBA List’s Candidate Fund PAC announced its endorsement of Youngkin, his running mate lieutenant governor candidate Winsome Sears, and attorney general candidate Jason Miyares in an effort to defeat the pro-abortion Democratic ticket.

SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser added:

“Today’s Democratic Party stands in lockstep with the radical abortion lobby, pushing to expand abortion on demand through birth – including late-term abortions on fully developed unborn babies who feel pain, barbaric partial-birth abortions, and even infanticide – and to force taxpayers to be complicit. The days when then-Senator Biden supported common ground, life-saving policies like the Hyde Amendment are long gone. Terry McAuliffe is a longtime pro-abortion extremist who would double down on the egregious legacy of Ralph Northam and then some.

“We thank Glenn Youngkin for calling out Democrats’ extremism, highlighting the stark contrast between his policy agenda and McAuliffe’s, and committing to be a champion for unborn children and their mothers as well as taxpayers in the Commonwealth.”

Recent polling shows strong majorities of Americans reject abortion extremism and politicians who support it:

  • 65% of Americans support limits on late-term abortion in the second trimester, and 80% said that about the third trimester.
  • 53% of likely voters are more likely to vote for a Republican candidate who supports a 15-week limit on abortion versus just 28% of voters who prefer a Democratic candidate who supports unlimited abortion up until the moment of birth. Independent voters break strongly to the GOP side by a 54% to 18% margin.
  • 77% of Americans oppose using taxpayer dollars to promote abortion overseas, and 58% oppose using taxpayer money to fund abortions in the United States.

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
