Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich announced yesterday that he will indeed seek the Republican nomination for President.
Gingrich formulated the famous “Contract with America” which led the GOP back to control of Congress in 1994. He served as Speaker of the House from 1995-1999, and represented Georgia’s 6th congressional district in Congress for twenty years, or ten terms.
Since his time in public office, Gingrich has kept busy, authoring several books and producing multiple movies. His groups include American Solutions for Winning the Future, Gingrich Productions, and Renewing American Leadership.
