Woman Reaches Out to Find True Cure for Breast Cancer

A two time breast cancer survivor, Edie Eason heard that Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest breast cancer charity in the world, was contributing funds to Planned Parenthood. She followed up on this information and discovered the connection did exist and she decided to do something about it.

This seventy-two year old woman is writing letters to every single one of Komen’s corporate partners. In a recent email to the Susan B. Anthony list, Eason said, “I have no way to ensure that these letters are actually getting to the CEOs, Presidents, Chairmen of the Boards, etc. to whom I am addressing them.  But someone is opening them, reading them, and learning, so I think it will eventually make a dent in ignorance of this situation.”

The work Edie is doing can help stop Planned Parenthood and save the lives of the unborn. If you want to do the same, a list of Komen’s corporate sponsors can be found here and a copy of her letter to BMW is below.

Thank you Edie Eason for all you do to save the lives of the unborn!

Re: Partnership of Susan G Komen and Planned Parenthood

Dear  Mr. O’Donnell:

Because BMW of North America has been a generous supporter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in their fight against breast cancer, I wish to share my recently acquired knowledge that Komen has partnered with Planned Parenthood.  NONE of the 300 + people with whom I have personally shared this had heard of this association.  As I am, they are all appalled. The focus of Komen is presented to be saving lives by finding a cure for breast cancer. The focus of Planned Parenthood is ABORTION.  There should be NO connection between the two organizations, financially or any other way.

Planned Parenthood received $363 million in government grants and contracts – our tax dollars – from 2008 to 2009 alone. And during this time, while facilitating the abortion of 324,008 babies, Planned Parenthood made only 9,433 adoption referrals.  I must come to the sad conclusion that this evil will eventually result in fewer cases of breast cancer only because it will assure that fewer women will be born. Komen’s claim that because “only” 27 of their affiliates donate part of their proceeds to PP, those donations are OK is spurious. There is no excuse for Komen giving ANY credence or support to this organization that kills when Komen’s focus is presented as saving lives.

I am a two-time survivor of breast cancer.  I am VERY appreciative of the efforts of BMW of North America to aid in the fight to find a cure for this horrific disease. I am also a veteran of several Komen events.  To show for them, I have the T-shirts and visors, and even the tape of a TV commercial for the J.C Penney Race For the Cure in which I was featured.  I am horrified to think that any of these efforts helped, in even the least way, an organization whose main focus is ABORTION. While I recognize and applaud the huge impact Komen is making, there are other venues in which to channel support in the fight against breast cancer.  I sincerely hope you will consider them, and further that you will exert your influence to have Komen drop this connection.

I am contacting all of the nearly 200 corporate partners of Susan G. Komen to inform all of you of this alliance, and request in the strongest terms that your company withdraw your support of Komen until the connection with Planned Parenthood is severed. Thank you for your support. I hope that you agree, no matter what view you may hold on abortion, that the Susan G. Komen Foundation should have no part in this controversial enterprise.

Thank you,

Edie Eason
