Planned Parenthood

Designed for Sedation: The Unreality and a Half-Billion-Dollar Comeback

A collage featuring a side profile of a fetus, the words Planned Parenthood in bold pink letters, and a blue warning triangle with the text Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Bubble gum pink. High saturation. Noodle-armed figures vaguely suggest personhood instead of portrait photography. It’s inclusive, say the proponents of this aesthetic called Corporate Memphis. It has become the standard for all Center-Left activism. Allegedly, simplicity lowers the barrier to entry. Design forums are full of mockery, creative directors skewer it like a talentless classmate in art school workshops.

Corporate Memphis is not just a poor design. It is sedation. A dulling of conscience and consciousness to reality.

Is it an abortion infographic or the landing page of an Etsy witch? The visual language is identical. Easy. Breezy. Brain dead. Cartoons about mifepristone are a deliberate refusal to show reality because reality is precisely what Planned Parenthood cannot afford for their audience to confront. It tracks for their brand and mission. The same infantilization and minimization protocol is why their clinics omit fetal development information and medical risks because true informed consent might make women reconsider abortion.

I can pull back the curtain on Planned Parenthood’s unreality because I know this game. I’ve perfected the playbook in other fields. I know it when I see it.

I’ve Sold Unreality Before. I Know What It Looks Like.

For over a decade, I was an executive at advertising and marketing agencies from Los Angeles to New York. My clients spanned beauty conglomerates, major entertainment, professional sports, and even Big Pharma. The brief was almost always the same: manufacture unreality.

You can be beautiful. (Sell the makeup.) You can be rich. (Sell the sports betting app.) You will never die. (Sell the drugs.) Clever marketing mainlines the consumer directly to happiness, or at least a sensation of it. The product is secondary and truth irrelevant. Unreality is the point. So I nailed the pitch, went viral, and pleased my clients. Unreality secured the win.

But for Planned Parenthood, the sell is a mythology that adult choices do not carry serious consequences, regret is a non-existent emotion, and women achieve success and freedom by eliminating what stands in their way. And they do it all through a visual language of condescension.

If abortion is not rendered in picture book format young adults, women, and people of color cannot discuss the weight and politics of it. Abortion must be weightless because they cannot bear, and should not be asked to bear, the actual stakes of life and death. Liberals love abortion, Marx, and the mockery of religion as an opiate. I argue that they have an opiate too, it is Corporate Memphis, a diabolical cartoon mimicry of the Imago Dei.

Planned Parenthood’s unreality campaign beats any Big Six agency budget. It was funded by $792.2 million in taxpayer subsidies. Subsidies it reclaimed in July 5, 2026 and with it returned taxpayer-funded abortion.

Godless Marxism and the Economic Utility of Women

I’ll admit the slogans, “Abortion is healthcare” and “My body, my choice” is top tier marketing. As good as Nike’s “Just Do It.” It is simple and easy to remember. It uses altruistic language which elevates the speaker, at least they believe so, to a morally superior position. It’s a cultural autopilot that many say but don’t reflect on. Few catch on it’s a demonic echolalia. Satan knows exactly what sin-inclined humans need to hear and say, to avoid self-inquiry and the Cross.

Marxist marketing is quite good too. Revolution is sexy and rebellious. It is perfect for the young, the idealistic, the entitled. It makes pathological envy look romantic. Che Guevara’s portrait has ironically made an estimated $500 million since it became vogue. Marxism always fails to deliver, it delivers famine instead of abundance, death instead of freedom, and shameless profit instead of cashless utopia.

Marxism and abortion have long been bedfellows with Lenin’s Soviet Russia being the first to legalize it. When a government cannot feed its people, they institutionalize abortion to mask failure. Today the American Democratic establishment and its growing Socialist wing, unite in the central messaging that abortion is essential to female personhood. The Reproductive Justice movement of the 1990s picked up the toxic baton from the failed Sexual Revolution and over the decades, through groupthink and performative allyship, the majority of America women believe they can and should kill their way to success.

Here’s the truth. This era of legalized abortion in America rests on a vision of liberation that must reduce women, men, and children to their economic utility not a God given value. It is a barbaric ideology. The child is a liability. Pregnancy is a disruptive burden. The woman is a unit of labor whose output cannot be compromised by motherhood. Men are the enemies and competitors of women. Destroying the family destroys society. The goal of all varieties of Marxism is to banish God, destroy government, private property and the “bourgeois family.” The clip art of Planned Parenthood masks how human lives are weighed by earning potential just as Marxists masks their materialist despair in revolution. Money, power, and fear grows as God recedes. And the most vulnerable life, the child who literally embodies America’s future, is equated to a net negative.

Dignity in Design: Speaking to Adults as Adults

I now lead digital strategy for SBA Pro-Life America and its family of organizations.

We sidestep the typical visual grammar of conservative chyrons like aggressive serif fonts. It is clean, considered, and well composed. We don’t use vectors or illustrated avatars.

We publish portraits of women harmed by abortion drugs, advocates on the front lines, candidates with verified voting records, and testimonies of ordinary Americans who share why they changed their minds about abortion because real faces should accompany authentic stories.

We break down legal cases with depth instead of repeating reductive one-liners so that constituents understand why a ruling in a circuit court they’ve never heard of matters.

With vibrant fetalscopic technology we show who we are fighting for: fetuses, embryos, and babies, the very individuals Planned Parenthood’s entire visual language was engineered to erase because it convicts the conscience.

As 15,000 children are killed every month because of mail order abortion drugs in states with pro-life laws and 90,000 total die by surgical and drugs alike, we ground these numbers in photos. A graduation photo from Boston College which has an enrolled population of 15,000. A stadium shot from the 2026 World Cup Final in Texas, which had 90,000 attendees. This is the weight of the souls we have lost to abortion, in moments of the human experience we all recognize.

And while I have spun many campaigns, I know that the truth of humankind cannot be rebranded with clever marketing. So I have taken all the strategies I succeeded with in my past to run a counter-campaign.

At SBA, our work is the visual and editorial antidote to Planned Parenthood’s unreality. Our content refuses to simplify grief or resolve it too quickly because we trust our audience to bear that weight. We design for adults as adults. And we don’t target children. We protect them.

Federal funding resumed in July. Planned Parenthood continues with their faceless, spineless cartoons. But we are also here in full color and radiant humanity, fighting for life, and speaking to those who choose not to look away.
