Keisha Lance Bottoms’ Candidacy Threatens Gains for Georgia Babies and Women

Keisha Lance Bottoms looks to the side against a bright orange background featuring a white outline of Georgia politics.

Georgians have a state government that protects unborn babies in law, resists abortion lobby pressure, and funds programs that help women. Abortion radical and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms threatens to reverse these key gains for women and children in the womb.

Bottoms, the Democratic nominee for Georgia governor, has promised to veto any protections for unborn babies if elected and to attack pregnancy resource centers that save lives and support women. The former mayor has made clear that as governor she would be a dead end for protecting the unborn and helping women. The abortion lobby is firmly in her camp.

So much is at stake. Georgia currently protects babies in the womb once a heartbeat is detectable and funds programs that assist mothers during pregnancy and after birth, including support for pregnancy resource centers. At the same time, the state needs a dynamic pro-life governor to fend off challenges such as dangerous abortion drugs pouring into the state, killing children who should be protected by Georgia law and sending countless women to the emergency room. Bottoms is not that governor.

Lance Bottoms Against The Women and Babies of Georgia

Bottoms made an absolutist campaign promise against unborn Americans in a June 2025 Instagram post, “As Governor, I will veto any attempts to further erode our reproductive freedom.”

“As Governor, I will veto any attempts to further erode our reproductive freedom.”

She also pledges to “Repeal Georgia’s abortion ban, protect safe access to clinics, and crack down on deceptive crisis pregnancy centers that mislead patients and delay care.” This is not an isolated quote but a core part of her platform that she emphasizes in other campaign materials.

Before launching her gubernatorial campaign, Bottoms responded to the Dobbs decision leak by posting an article fretting that protecting babies could hurt the economy.

Bottoms’ mayoral record also reflects her antipathy toward the human dignity of children in the womb.

01

Effort to discriminate against pro-life Georgia businesses

Endorsed it

As Mayor of Atlanta, she responded to Georgia passing a law to protect the unborn by endorsing an effort to discriminate against pro-life Georgia businesses.

02

Touting the effort to the media

Told Variety

She even touted the effort to the media. “A woman’s health care decisions should remain between her, her doctor and her maker. Atlanta has a robust tech community that could potentially assist with leveraging the kind of data and information [Pro-abortion actress Alyssa Milano] is discussing,” she told Variety.

03

Georgia’s protections for the unborn

Tried to undermine

During her time in office, Bottoms presided over a city government that tried to undermine Georgia’s protections for the unborn and created the Atlanta Reproductive Justice Commission to promote abortion.

04

Atlanta Reproductive Justice Commission

Appointed radical members

She appointed radical members to this commission, such as Ebony Barley Carswell, who has worked with radical pro-abortion organizations like NARAL (now called Reproductive Freedom for All) and Catholics for Choice.

Lance Bottoms’ Disturbing Endorsements

Unsurprisingly, this radical candidate has been endorsed by extreme pro-abortion groups such as Emily’s List, Planned Parenthood Action, and Reproductive Freedom for All.

Bottoms publicly thanked Reproductive Freedom for All, a radical group that has endorsed packing the Supreme Court, supports abortion up to birth, supports taxpayer-funded abortion, and offers links for purchasing abortion drugs online and advice for “self-managed abortion.”

Another Bottoms’ endorsee, Planned Parenthood Action, circulates demanding questionnaires through many of its regional affiliates. In some cases, affiliates stress that endorsements depend on a perfect 100% score.

The affiliate in Bottoms’ area, Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates (PPSEA), may have made some disturbing asks of candidates, according to a purported 2026 questionnaire from PPSEA. PPSEA pressed candidates to support taxpayer funded abortion, promise to oppose any protections for babies in the womb, and allow abortions for teens without parental notification. These extreme requirements appear in confirmed questionnaires from other affiliates.

What PPSEA pressed candidates to commit to

Support taxpayer funded abortion.

Promise to oppose any protections for babies in the womb.

Allow abortions for teens without parental notification.

It is fundamentally clear that Bottoms would be a fierce enemy of the unborn in office. It is the responsibility of Georgia voters to spread the truth about where she stands and to vote to ensure she never occupies the governor’s office.
