Garcia grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and returned home to serve as a regional field representative for the office of the agricultural commissioner. She went on to serve as deputy state director to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and was appointed commissioner for the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative by President Trump. She has participated in the March for Life in the Rio Grande Valley, Austin, and D.C. and is a supporter of the Rio Grande Valley Pregnancy Center.
