Jon Tester is an Abortion Extremist, Dramatically out of step with Montana Voters

Washington, D.C.  – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today congratulated Matt Rosendale on winning the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Montana. Rosendale will take on Senator Jon Tester in the general election.

“We congratulate Matt Rosendale on his victory and are encouraged that a strong pro-life candidate will take on Senator Tester this November,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Tester is an extremist who supports abortion on demand up to the moment of birth, a position that is dramatically out of step with his constituents. He even voted against popular legislation to limit late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy.”

Susan B. Anthony List previously launched testertooextreme.com and a hard-hitting digital ad campaign to expose Sen. Tester’s extremist views on abortion after he voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Known as “Micah’s Law,” this popular legislation would protect unborn children from late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy.

Sixty-three (63) percent of Montana voters support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and 59 percent said they would be less likely to support Senator Tester if he voted to allow late-term abortion according to polling data commissioned by SBA List.

“Our field team of more than 400 pro-life canvassers has visited nearly one million homes in the battleground states of Ohio, Indiana, Florida, and Missouri, with plans to expand, as part of a historic effort to educate and mobilize voters for the 2018 midterm election,” added Dannenfelser. “SBA List canvassers are on track to reach two million homes by Election Day.”

SBA List’s partner super PAC, Women Speak Out was previously active in Montana, visiting more than 31,000 voters’ homes as part of a 2017 special election effort to elect Rep. Greg Gianforte.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
