Women, Doctors, and Nurse Lead Charge to Expose Abortion Industry Abuses
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This morning House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced the Republican appointments to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s new Select Investigative Panel tasked with investigating Planned Parenthood. The panel will be chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and includes Reps. Joe Pitts (R-PA), Diane Black (R-TN), Larry Bucshon (R-IN), Sean Duffy (R-WI), Andy Harris (R-MD), Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), and Mia Love (R-UT).
“This select panel is an encouraging restart to an investigative process that is long overdue. For the first time, especially since the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell and the horrific undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood, there is an official entity tasked with the sole purpose of protecting women and children and exposing the negligent and abusive practices of the abortion industry nationwide.
“We are encouraged to see such passionate and articulate pro-life women and men – including doctors and a nurse – lead the charge to expose the abortion industry’s exploitative practices. Chairman Blackburn and the Republican members of this panel have been stalwart defenders of the unborn and their mothers. We know they will do an excellent job seeking out and exposing the truth.”
Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
