Interactive Map Highlights Pro-Life vs. Pro-Abortion States and Shield Laws
Washington, D.C. – Three years after the Dobbs decision restored the right of the people and their elected representatives to protect unborn children from abortion, 23 states have laws protecting lives in the first trimester. These laws are being undermined by the abortion industry based on a new Charlotte Lozier Institute study estimating annual abortions to be at least 1.1 million.
Ahead of the Dobbs anniversary, SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser is emphasizing the major work ahead to save more lives:
“On this third anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we celebrate the babies and toddlers who are alive today thanks to President Donald Trump and pro-life leaders in the states. We are a better nation with these little ones among us. The stories of women and their children, who are thriving today and give credit to pro-life laws for a more joyful life than they could have imagined, are beautiful and deserve to be shouted from the rooftops.
“The tragic reality of abortions increasing since the Dobbs decision must serve as a wakeup call to the nation. We are at the beginning of our fight to save unborn children and nowhere near the end. Fueled by our taxpayer dollars, Big Abortion led by Planned Parenthood is undermining states’ ability to protect babies in the womb with mail-order abortions that almost always end the life of the unborn child and often send girls and women to the ER. It is time for our leaders in Washington, D.C., to stop the forced taxpayer funding of abortion businesses and respond to the growing body of evidence that abortion drugs are far more dangerous than advertised.”
Updated interactive maps at lifesavinglaws.com, launched by SBA Pro-Life America, track progress and threats to life across the country: states with pro-life laws, states with pro-abortion laws, and states with shield laws.
To promote awareness of the life-saving impact of Dobbs, mothers are sharing their stories of gratitude for pro-life laws that protected their children. Neesha Lewis, a Georgia mom and medical professional, is thankful for her state’s pro-life law. When she became unexpectedly pregnant, she called to schedule an abortion but was told her state had a heartbeat limit. Through a friend at church, she was connected with a pregnancy center and pursued an open adoption. Ashley Steckman’s son Jacob was saved after his birth mother sought an abortion at Planned Parenthood at 22 weeks pregnant. Because Florida’s 15-week late-term abortion limit had recently taken effect, she chose adoption instead.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
