Huge Victory in Battle to Stop Forced Taxpayer Funding of Abortion
Washington, D.C. – The 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has unblocked the portion of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that stops forced taxpayer funding of the Big Abortion industry.
Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business, sued the Trump administration, claiming abortion businesses are constitutionally entitled to taxpayer funding. A panel of judges appointed by former President Joe Biden lifted Massachusetts District Judge Indira Talwani’s injunction pending resolution of the Trump administration’s appeal.
The leading pro-life political group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America issued the following statement:
“We are pleased the 1st Circuit has shut down Big Abortion’s desperate money grab,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The American people, through Congress, spoke clearly with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Taxpayers should not be forced to spend a dime funding a brutal industry that ends at least 1.1 million lives a year, harms women while providing dwindling, substandard health care services, and engages in partisan political activism – especially when more accessible, more comprehensive options outnumber Planned Parenthoods 15 to 1. We are confident the Trump administration will prevail against the abortion industry’s lawfare.”
SBA Pro-Life America is tracking Planned Parenthood closures so far in 2025.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
