Makes Final Appeal to Latinos with Video, Automated Calls in 6 Key Swing States
Washington, D.C.— The outspoken Mexican actor and producer Eduardo Verastegui, whose credits include For Greater Glory and Bella, today released a new video and wave of automated calls in conjunction with the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles and the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) attacking President Obama for supporting abortion and betraying the values of Latinos.
Mr. Verastegui criticizes President Obama for supporting taxpayer-funded abortions and overseeing a record number of deportations—more than any other president since 1892, when recordkeeping began.
The new video coincides with a wave of automated calls featuring the actor starting today in six key battleground states where the Latino vote will be decisive: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. It can be seen in English and Spanish at http://www.durarealidad.com/.
The automated calls say, in part:
“Hola! I’m Eduardo Verastegui and I want to encourage all Latino voters to make sure that politicians don’t take our vote for granted in the next election.
“President Obama and his friends in Congress say they care about Latinos, but then why are they attacking our values: life, family and faith –vida, familia, fe!. From day one they have worked to advance abortion at home and abroad. And they have unleashed an unprecedented attack on the Church and its freedom.
“That’s why we need Romney in the White House…”
“Eduardo Verastegui has been the most outspoken advocate for Life and commands tremendous respect in the Hispanic community—working in Hollywood while supporting pro-life policies,” said Alfonso Aguilar, Executive Director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles. “In this critical final stretch, he’s taking his message to Latino voters.”
“The majority of Latinos are pro-life and comprise an increasing percentage of the voting bloc,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Barack Obama’s extreme abortion record flies in the face of Latino voters who believe in respect for all human life. Eduardo’s message will ensure this critical group knows exactly where each candidate stands on this most important issue.”
