SBA List State Director: Women deserve to be kept safe
Washington, D.C. – Today pro-life leaders organized by ProLife Woman/Women’s Health Advocacy Media (WHAM) held a press conference outside the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio in support of Kentucky’s law requiring abortion facilities to maintain transfer agreements with local hospitals and ambulance services, following oral arguments in EMW Women’s Surgical Center, et al. v. Adam Meier, et al.
Susan B. Anthony List’s State Policy Director Sue Swayze Liebel joined former State Representative Addia Wuchner, R.N.; Chad Meredith, Esq., counsel for the defense; Meg Whitman, executive director of Cincinnati Right to Life; Angela Minter, executive director of Sisters for Life (Louisville); Elizabeth Parker, Appalachian Regional Coordinator and Minorities Outreach Coordinator for Students for Life of America; and Rachel N. Morrison, Esq., litigation counsel for Americans United for Life to give remarks at the press conference.
“It is shameful when abortion facilities don’t want to meet the standards of today’s medical marketplace. Transfer agreements are not a barrier to care, rather, they are a standard of care. Women expect equity in care and deserve to have their safety protected,” said Liebel.
SBA List is a network of more than 787,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
