Washington, D.C. –  Today Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest for governor of North Carolina in 2020.

In the 2016 cycle, SBA List endorsed Lt. Gov. Forest and maintained a steady stronghold in the state. Its field team of over 200 canvassers visited the homes of almost 400,000 voters to win the pro-life vote and re-elect Forest.

“We are honored to support Dan in his race for governor,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, who hails from Greenville, North Carolina. “I know Dan well, and have watched him work hard as lieutenant governor to protect life. His record contrasts starkly with that of Governor Cooper, who blocked popular legislation to protect babies who survive abortions. In a battleground state like North Carolina, it is crucial to elect pro-life leaders who will fight the abortion extremism that has taken hold of the Democrat Party. Dan is one of the state’s strongest champions in that battle and SBA List is proud to stand with him again.”

Forest was the first Republican to be elected as lieutenant governor of North Carolina in over 20 years. In this role, Dan also serves as president of the state Senate. He is the former board chairman of Wake Forest Pregnancy Support Service and an active community, business, and faith leader. Dan lives with his wife and four children in Wake County.

SBA List is a network of more than 787,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
