President Trump & Pro-life Republicans Protect Trump’s Historic Pro-life Wins
Washington, D.C. – In response to the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of a bipartisan budget agreement reached by congressional leaders and the Trump administration, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following statement:
“We are pleased that today the House passed President Trump’s budget agreement. Once approved by the Senate, it will block Democrats’ attempts at repealing lifesaving policies and forcing taxpayers to fund abortion,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “This agreement ensures that President Trump’s Protect Life Rule goes into effect, stopping the funneling of Title X tax dollars to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, and protects longstanding pro-life policy riders such as the Hyde Amendment. It does not include anti-life poison pills that would block conscience protections, allow taxpayer funding for experiments involving the body parts of aborted babies, fund the abortion industry overseas using taxpayer dollars, or fund abortion on demand in the District of Columbia. As the budget heads to the Senate, and is followed by the passage of spending bills in the Senate, we urge Republicans to be vigilant in holding Speaker Pelosi accountable. The passage of this deal is a tremendous breakthrough for life. We thank President Trump, Leader McCarthy, Leader McConnell, and Senator Daines for prioritizing the protection of pro-life policies in budget negotiations.”
