Pro-life Canvassers Visited 310,000+ Missouri Voters to Expose McCaskill’s Extremism on Abortion
Washington, D.C. – Tonight the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated as its endorsed candidate Josh Hawley defeated incumbent U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill in the race for U.S. Senate in Missouri. The group’s field team of 117 canvassers visited more than 310,000 Missouri voters to expose Senator McCaskill’s extreme record on abortion. Additionally, SBA List held eight in-state media events, reached 448,144 voters through persuasive voter contact mail and digital ads, made 90,399 live voter calls, and raised $34,392 in bundled contributions for Hawley’s campaign.
“Tonight pro-life voters delivered victory to Josh Hawley. Senator McCaskill presented herself as a moderate, but her record of voting for abortion on demand was too extreme for Missouri,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “SBA List’s field team was on the ground early in Missouri. Since July of 2017 our canvassers have visited more than 310,000 voters who don’t always get to the polls, educating them about Senator McCaskill’s atrocious record and the importance of this election for unborn children and their mothers. McCaskill’s pro-life constituents were dismayed by her vote to block Justice Brett Kavanaugh and stunned to learn that she had voted to send tax dollars to Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion business, and to keep late-term abortions legal up to the moment of birth. SBA List congratulates Josh Hawley and all Missourians, who are sending a senator to Washington who truly reflects their pro-life values.”
SBA List’s field team of more than 1,100 canvassers visited 2.7 million voters this election cycle across the battleground states of Missouri, North Dakota, Indiana, Montana, Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, Arizona, and Tennessee. SBA List and Women Speak Out PAC undertook a six-figure independent expenditure campaign to mobilize pro-life voters across Missouri to support Josh Hawley. SBA List held three press tours in Missouri to urge Sen. McCaskill to vote to confirm each of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominees, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and to announce the field program.
