Pro-life Canvassers Visited 37,000+ North Dakota Voters to Expose Heitkamp’s Extremism on Abortion
Washington, D.C. – Tonight the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated as Kevin Cramer defeated incumbent Senator Heidi Heitkamp in the race for U.S. Senate in North Dakota. The group’s field team of 41 canvassers visited more than 37,000 North Dakota voters ahead of Election Day to expose Senator Heitkamp’s extreme record on abortion. Additionally, SBA List held four in-state media events, reached 89,912 voters through persuasive voter contact mail and digital ads, and raised $30,537 in bundled contributions for Kevin Cramer.
“Senator Heidi Heitkamp presented herself as a moderate, but her record of voting for abortion on demand was extreme – and tonight pro-life North Dakotans delivered victory for Kevin Cramer,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “SBA List’s field team spent months on the ground in North Dakota reaching out to more than 37,000 voters who don’t always get to the polls, working to educate them about Senator Heitkamp’s record and the importance of this election for unborn children and their mothers. Heitkamp’s pro-life constituents were dismayed by her vote to block Justice Brett Kavanaugh and stunned to learn that she had voted to keep late-term abortions legal up to the moment of birth. SBA List congratulates Kevin Cramer and all North Dakotans, who are sending a senator to Washington who truly reflects their pro-life values.”
SBA List’s field team of more than 1,100 canvassers visited 2.7 million voters this election cycle across the battleground states of North Dakota, Missouri, Indiana, Montana, Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, Arizona, and Tennessee. SBA List held three press tours in North Dakota to urge Sen. Heitkamp to vote to confirm each of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominees, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and to announce the field program.
