Extremist Democrats in Districts Won by Pres. Trump Receive Failing Grades on Life
Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today launched the Susan B. Anthony List National Pro-life Scorecard, a new tool for holding members of Congress accountable for their legislative records on life and highlighting leadership in the fight to protect unborn children and their mothers.
The Scorecard reflects key votes and actions taken during the 116th Congress, with an emphasis on members in cycle. Two major goals of the Scorecard are to assign letter grades so that pro-life constituents know what actions their legislators have taken on significant pro-life measures, including votes, cosponsorships, congressional letters, pro-life bill introduction, and more, and to provide clarity to members of Congress about SBA List’s stance on legislation. Profiles for senators not in cycle will be released at a later date.
“SBA List’s new Scorecard takes the pro-life movement to the next level, allowing us to show a dynamic, in-depth picture of each legislator’s record on life. In a pivotal election year, when the Republican conference is united on the life issue and the stakes are higher than ever, merely voting pro-life is not enough – we expect and celebrate leadership,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Unfortunately the Democratic Party is headed in the extreme opposite direction. 28 out of 30 Democrats in districts won by President Trump received failing grades in 2019 due to their support for abortion on demand through birth, paid for by taxpayers, and even infanticide – a radical agenda that is profoundly out of step with their constituents. The Susan B. Anthony List National Pro-life Scorecard is a powerful tool to educate voters and empower them to hold abortion extremists accountable at the ballot box.”
The 28 House Democrats in districts won by President Trump who received a grade of F were: Reps. Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), Susie Lee (NV-03), Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02), Kendra Horn (OK-05), Angie Craig (MN-02), Abby Finkenauer (IA-01), Dave Loebsack (IA-02), Cindy Axne (IA-03), Ron Kind (WI-03), Lauren Underwood (IL-14), Cheri Bustos (IL-17), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Haley Stevens (MI-11), Lucy McBath (GA-06), Matt Cartwright (PA-08), Conor Lamb (PA-17), Jared Golden (ME-02), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Max Rose (NY-11), Carolyn Maloney (NY-18), Antonio Delgado (NY-19), Anthony Brindisi (NY-22), Andy Kim (NJ-03), Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), Mike Sherrill (NJ-11), Elaine Luria (VA-02), Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), Joe Cunningham (SC-01). Rep. Ben McAdams (UT-4) received a D and Rep. Collin Peterson (MN-7) received a C.
In addition, all Senate Democrats in cycle received F grades except for Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL), who received a D grade.
